GOOD TO KNOW
Can I pay by card in Morocco?
Credit and debit cards are accepted in many hotels, restaurants, and larger shops. However, local markets (souks), artisan workshops, and small boutiques usually operate in cash only. We recommend carrying Moroccan dirhams for daily expenses.
Should I exchange currency before arriving?
Exchanging money in Morocco is generally more favorable. Exchange offices are available at airports and in major cities, and ATMs are widely accessible if you prefer to withdraw cash locally.
Is tipping expected?
Yes, tipping is customary in Morocco. Small tips are appreciated for drivers, guides, waiters, and hotel staff. Your Dihya host will advise you on appropriate tipping practices during the trip.
